Brief
The Property Buying Company needed some fun injecting into their corporate offices, to ensure the space reflects their funky, lively brand personality.
Solution
We set about designing a space full of colour, lavish materials and finishes that would deliver a high end look on a modest budget.
The entrance is warm and welcoming with a balance of earthy tones and pops of colour, as well as exposed ceilings and lots of greenery.
We added various seating and work settings in a variety of luxurious velvets with accents of brass and marble. This allowed us to offer both employees and visitors alternative meeting or work spaces, they can choose from a beautiful L-shape office, a hanging chair, fixed banquette seating and poseur height tables.
The flooring in the entrance area is a work of art in itself, and perfectly complements the quirky interior. A customised carpet from EGE featuring an Italian architectural graphic sits under the lounge area, surrounded with herringbone oak floor. We selected 4 different shades of oak LVT planks and laid them randomly to create more depth and character. The finish is exquisite.
Directly accessible and visible from the entrance area is an impressive 16-person boardroom, kitted out with Mobili chairs in an array of Kvadrat fabric colours. A reflection of the multi-coloured company logo and their fun yet sophisticated character, this is a great way to inject elements of the brand in a subtle way.
The first floor is home to the main office space, together with the director’s offices and additional breakout space with a tea and coffee station.
While an exposed ceiling aesthetic was desired, for acoustics reasons the decision was made to replace the white ceiling tiles with black mesh and the grid painted black for a seamless finish. Black bagged insulation was then added on top of the tiles, making the acoustics in the room more suited to a loud, bustling sales office environment.
In a style similar to the oak floor downstairs, we selected four different grey carpet tiles from Interface and laid them randomly to add depth and texture on the first floor. The walls were decorated with block colours and prints by Keith Haring, resulting in a youthful and fun, yet sophisticated finish. We also incorporated a heavy textured wall using split-face limestone, which gives the space a warm and inviting feel.
The breakout space is a celebration of the company’s lively, family spirit with a prosecco and beer tap available to staff on Fridays. The kitchen incorporated copper and chrome accents as well as a quartz effect top, adding a touch of luxury on a modest budget.
Since The Property Buying Company occupied their new office space they have reported a 100% increase in sales and productivity. We’re biased, but we’re sure working in such beautiful offices has had a positive impact on staff wellbeing and productivity!
